In Depth: FCA Issues Policy Statement On PSD2 Security Standards

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has finalised its approach to incoming payment services security standards, responding to uncertainties around third-party account access, strong authentication and online marketplaces.

The regulator published a detailed policy statement on its implementation plans for the EU’s regulatory technical standards on strong authentication on Wednesday, cementing a critical component of the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) that takes effect in September 2019.
