Denmark Moves In Line With EBA On Strong Authentication

Denmark will follow the European Banking Authority's (EBA) recommendation of a 15-month transition period for new EU rules on strong authentication of online card payments, a reversal of the country's previous position of 18 months.

Last month, the EBA issued a long-awaited opinion on its preferred transition period for the enforcement of strong customer authentication (SCA) requirements, recommending that member states give businesses until December 31, 2020 to get up to speed.
