Europol has highlighted the dangers posed by the stuttering introduction of strong authentication and open banking reforms, flagging indecision over delays as a gap to be exploited by fraudsters.

In its annual report on cybercrime, which was published on Wednesday, the continent’s law enforcement agency addressed concerns related to the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) alongside ongoing issues in areas such as ATM attacks and phishing fraud.
