The government has published a statement of intent on the future of data protection in the UK, as evidence mounts that many companies will be coming in under the wire for compliance.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) issued the statement following an industry consultation on the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which concluded earlier this year.
