Crypto Next As Brussels Pulls Payments Into VAT Fraud Reforms

The European Parliament has recommended that virtual currency exchanges be scheduled for consideration in a proposed directive to recruit payment providers in the fight against VAT fraud.

The European Commission proposed a directive late last year amending the existing VAT E-Commerce Directive, the latest version of which was passed in 2017 and concerned the distance sale of goods and services provided to end customers in the EU.
