Industry experts have criticised the UK’s incoming credit card gambling ban for failing to address potential loopholes that could see problem gamblers circumvent it.
On Tuesday, the Gambling Commission announced gambling with a credit card will be banned from April 14, due to its potential to lead to “significant financial harm”, according to Neil McArthur, the chief executive of the Gambling Commission.
Jens Bader, the co-founder of e-wallet and smart payment app MuchBetter, said the ban “raises more questions than answers, most importantly, will it actually work in the real world?”.
