Consumer Group Wary Of SCA Delays, Despite Merchant Relief

UK regulators' willingness to accept a phased enforcement regime for forthcoming strong customer authentication (SCA) rules has been met with opposition from Brussels’ leading consumer protection body, despite relief among merchants.

PaymentsCompliance revealed on Monday that the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has tasked UK Finance with drawing up plans for a transition period before SCA rules are actively enforced as part of the revised Payment Services Directive, or PSD2.
